Emergencies

If you are not a client at MCPST or have not seen a therapist at our clinic, DO NOT leave a message with our clinic or contact our answering service.  Please call 911 or the Journey Mental Health Center of Dane County Crisis Line at (608) 280-2600 if you live in or near Dane County.  The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline can be reached at (800) 273-8255.

If you are having an emergency, please DO NOT leave a message in our general voice mail or in your therapist’s voice mail.  Follow our emergency procedure as described below:

If you are a current client and a mental health emergency occurs,  please call (608) 237-8000 x 3 to speak to our Administrative Manager Sarah.  If she is not available, follow the instructions on our voice mail to reach our answering service.  Once you reach our answering service, tell them you are having an emergency and need to speak to your therapist.  They will attempt to contact your therapist who will return your call.  If you do not hear from your therapist within 30 minutes, please call the answering service again.  If your therapist is not available, the answering service will ask if you would like the therapist on call to be contacted.  It is your right to refuse such contact.

Please talk with your therapist if you have additional questions.
